Tracy Hooten

North Florida Region Coordinator


Captain Tracy Hooten began her career in 2004 as a firefighter paramedic with the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department.  During that time she has risen to the rank of Captain in the Rescue Division.  She was appointed as the Health and Safety Officer for JFRD in July of 2016. 

Throughout her 16 years in Fire/EMS she is passionate about the safety and health of the 1200 firefighters she serves, serving since 2002. She is a former Educator in EMS; Paramedic and EMT instructor.

Captain Hooten has a BS in Health Science with a minor in Community Health from the University of North Florida.

Tracy serves as a Region Coordinator for the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative (FFSHC), which focuses in the areas of: firefighter cancer prevention, health and fitness, mental wellness, and firefighter safety.  As the North Florida Region Coordinator, she works with local fire departments and industry leaders to fulfill the direction of the FFSHC.
