Brian Hughes

Northwest Region Coordinator

Brian Hughes is a Lieutenant for the South Walton Fire District in Northwest Florida. Lt. Hughes began his career in 1993 as a volunteer firefighter and has over 25 years of experience in the Fire & EMS field. Brian joined SWFD in 2001 and has served as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Sergeant and for the past 10 years as a Lieutenant in the Operations Division. Brian is the current Chair for the SWFD FACE Team (Firefighters Attacking the Cancer Epidemic) and Co-chair for the SWFD Training Committee. He is certified as a Fire Officer 1, Instructor 1, Live Fire Instructor and Incident Safety Officer. Brian Hughes is a Lieutenant for the South Walton Fire District in Northwest Florida. Lt. Brian has served as a Paramedic in both the pre-hospital and in-hospital setting since 1997. Brian completed his A.S. Degree in Emergency Medical Services in 2013. While employed at SWFD, Brian served as a Flight Paramedic in a partnership to provide air medical services. Brian completed his A.S. Degree in Nursing in 2013 and has specialized in emergency medicine, surgical nursing and post anesthesia care. 

Brian was recently appointed as the Northwest Region Coordinator and looks forward to assisting area departments in fulfilling the direction of the FFSHC.
